hiding in the welcome center, i dont have my powers and i got caught by splicers a few days ago

stiles is around but he spliced himself so its kind of

dude you know what never mind, im so glad youre back. Is velma ok?? can I come see you?

[ He personally doesn’t care of Isaac is on the other side of Rapture right now, he still wants to see him. ]

wait what are you okay?

yeah velma is okay now i think? i'm not sure. what's wrong with stiles??

man yeah come as fast as you can. it's been [ lonely? disorienting? ] kind of weird without you. i could even meet you halfway if you wanted

[ annnd he includes instructions to the apartment they're holed up in. he missed scott a lot. ]

yeah im fine i just have a broken arm, stiles found me. he killed them all. ill explain when i see you its complicated

im worried about him

yeah come and meet me, ill be fast as I can

[ And he heads off. He has broken ribs in addition to the broken arm so he won’t be quick, but he’ll try. He missed Isaac too, and now he’s just hoping that Isaac hasn’t taken ADAM already. ]

[ wait, stiles killed them all? that's a little... weird. ]

okay. i'll find you.

[ and isaac is out the door with a hurried rush of words to velma (and promises he'll be back with scott). he hasn't taken anything and, really, he's been making sure velma hasn't. ]

[ Scott goes as quickly as he can, while avoiding Splicers. It takes longer than he wants because he can’t afford to run into them – there’s no way he’d be able to fight them off right now – but eventually he gets there. He has one arm in a sling and generally looks like he’s been knocked around a few times. ]

Isaac? Where are you?

[ to his credit, isaac leans more into view once he catches sight of scott. it's not really a surprise that scott isn't looking so good — velma didn't either. that doesn't mean it sits well with him, though. still, he moves away from the wall he's been leaning on (a couple of close-by pillars gave him whatever shelter he needed before scott's arrival) and more over to him. ]

Your arm — [ a dumb observation, interrupted by a worrying of his lower lip. scott did say he got caught by splicers, that his arm was broken. it's still sort of jarring to actually see it, though. ] Did you have any trouble?

[ getting here, he means. the splicers aren't making anything very easy. ]

[ Scott shakes his head. He’d been caught by them enough times by now to be better at avoiding them. ]

No, I’m okay. This isn’t that bad, I just miss being able to heal. Can you still…?

[ Because he’s not sure. He knows Isaac hasn’t been taking the ADAM but he’s not sure if he’s still able to transform at all. Either way, Scott doesn’t intend on staying here. He keeps moving, and keeps flashing his head round at the slightest movement. The Splicers have made him kind of jittery. ]

[ once scott's on the move again, isaac's trailing behind. he's still trying to get the lay of the land, so he really only knows how to get to certain areas and is just learning where to look, hiding places and all. ]

I think I can. I haven't tried and it feels different, though. [ a pause as he tries to figure out how to put it. ] Like it's there but... not. If that makes sense.

[ like it's muted, weaker. more of a barely-there sensation than anything else. ]

[ Scott gives him a worried look. That's not good - although at least it's confirmation that Isaac hasn't been on ADAM. ]

Everyone's powers are messed up here. It seems like no one can use them unless they take the drugs? So yeah, that makes sense. I didn't take them either.

Stiles did. That's how he killed the Splicers that got me.

[ isaac's pace hiccups, a small pause in a step as he listens. that's — what. ]

He killed them all? How? What kind of drugs did he take? Velma took some of that ADAM stuff but — [ a breath, something to interrupt the rush of words. ] Nothing like that. Or at least I don't think so.

Did he just run off after he killed them? Shouldn't we find him?

I've been with him. It's--

It's complicated.

[ And a very long story, so Scott goes back a bit. He shoots a glance at Isaac and sighs. ]

Before we got here, there was this week where things got kind of crazy. Some of the passengers were killing others, and they weren't in their right minds, COMPASS had done something. And Jackson was one of the ones affected, and he attacked Stiles. Gave him scars. [ Scott gestures at his face and neck, indicating claw marks. ] Stiles kind of freaked out after. He wanted to ask Derek for the Bite.

He gave him scars — [ and isaac does stop walking for a moment before he remembers to keep pace, brow knit as he watches scott, attention now focused solely on him. ]

You said he wanted to, so does that mean he didn't? [ isaac can't blame stiles for wanting to be stronger. in a lot of ways, the bite was the best thing that ever happened to him. ]

Bad scars. [ Scott drops his hand. He’s glad he brought this up now, because if Isaac had seen Stiles without having known what happened, he might have reacted badly. Which would have made Stiles react badly, and it’s just so much better if no one goes there. ]

It wasn’t Jackson’s fault. I mean, it was, but he had COMPASS in his head. Stiles doesn’t…really accept that, at all. They hate each other, man, it’s worse than it ever was.

And, no. He didn’t get the Bite, but only because Derek talked him out of it. Derek didn’t want him making a decision like that right after what Jackson did, without thinking about it. And now Derek’s gone, and the option’s gone with him.

So then we got to Rapture, and…and for a week, I talked him out of it. I was gone from him for the shortest time, I swear, and then…he took ADAM. And a plasmid, one that made him able to shoot electricity out of his hands. That’s how he killed the Splicers that attacked me. Now he’s addicted to the stuff, and it’s all because he thought he wasn’t good enough as a human.

It’s messed up, man.

[ isaac's bad with tact, so he's glad scott decided to tell him now, too. none of it is good news, though. (not that he was expecting good news, not here.) it doesn't make any of it easier to swallow. if anything, it just kind of reinforces how much of a disaster he missed. that alone drops his heart into his stomach. ]

You know it's not your fault, right? [ just to get that out in the open. scott always takes responsibility for everyone and stiles made a choice. it wasn't a good choice, not really, and he only has the experience of velma crying into his shirt to tell him that, but it's enough. ]

[ Scott doesn’t say anything at first. He doesn’t look at Isaac for this next part. ]

I didn’t get there in time. When Jackson found him. I wasn’t there, and by the time I got there, he was already scarred.

He’ll never be able to fix that, Isaac. And now the two of them will never stop hating each other.

You tried. [ quiet, but he watches scott. isaac should probably be paying more attention to their surroundings, but... ]

You always try. [ a little louder, but no louder than normal speaking volume. there's nothing accusatory in his tone, it's just a statement. ] That's why everyone trusts you, Scott. If there was something you could have done, you would have done it.

[ which is isaac for 'the only one who blames you is you'. but he reiterates: ] It's not your fault.

[ Scott looks up at him now. Isaac had trusted him. At home, when Stiles was missing and Allison was losing herself and his mom was scared and Derek was depressed and Jackson belonged to Gerard and Erica and Boyd were leaving…Isaac had stayed. Isaac had been the only one who stayed, the only one who’d been there. He remembers that now, and he’s so, so glad that Isaac’s back. ]

Man, I missed you. Thanks.

We should— [ He glances round, noticing where they’re standing. ] –we should keep moving.

If you were that surprised about Stiles, does that mean Velma hasn’t given herself powers? The drugs are worse when you do that.
